A shard of a troll's mirror lodges in Kai's eye, and the boy who was Gerda's closest friend turns cold and leaves with the Snow Queen. Gerda follows him across a river, through a flower garden and a palace, into a robber's cave and out to the polar dark. Four Trolls open the play and the ensemble plays everything else, with puppets, objects and movement.
