SWOOP: INTRO TO IMPROV (Ages 9-13)
In Intro to Improv, young performers learn the fundamentals of improv performance, use games and exercises to hone their skills, and become a cooperative storytelling team. Using techniques from several renowned schools of improv, students learn how to perform dynamic scenes for comedy and drama, how to keep an audience engaged in a long-form show, and especially how to think on their feet. Improv is a fun, cooperative activity that fosters team-building and quick problem solving, and is very useful for those theatrically inclined, or just seeking to come out of their shell. No past experience is required, so whether you're a veteran performer or making your stage debut, if you want to learn the art of improv, we'll say "Yes, and... bring a friend!"
